MTI, a global provider of IT and IT security services and solutions, has proudly announced it has appointed Pieter Knook as Non-Exec Chairman.
Pieter joins MTI with a wealth of knowledge and a background in leadership, having spent over 20 years in the IT industry. Pieter has experience spanning several business start-ups and software service ventures, as well as holding multiple board level positions.
Pieter’s prior board positions include Bullitt Group, a ruggedised mobile device maker, working with the CAT and Land Rover brands. He has also been involved with Pulsant, a hosting and cloud provider, which boasts a revenue of £85m, £23m in EBIDTA, and over 400 staff.
Internationally, Pieter’s board positions also included Coromatic, a data centre construction and power solution company based in the Nordics with a revenue of €170m. NASDAQ listed Bio-Key also forms part of Pieter’s extensive repertoire.
Pieter’s most recent venture encompassed taking on a struggling business, growing revenue at more than 40% a year while developing a new platform business, selling more than 20 million units a year.
In addition to being a trustee for Lunar Mission One and an advisor to Wonder, Pieter is also an angel investor through Cambridge Angels and featured on the board of directors of TDC, a leading Danish provider of communications solutions.
Having spent two and a half years building up a new software services venture for Vodafone Group, launching and evolving Vodafone 360, Pieter also held a number of other board positions including, the Strategy Board, Marketing Board, Ventures Board, CEO Council and Group Marketing Leadership Team.
Prior to this, Pieter spent 18 years at Microsoft where he traversed technical, sales, marketing and business management roles across three different organisations including several start-ups.
