Tiger Team Attack Assessment

The aim of a Tiger Team assessment is to imitate the actions of an authorised person who has access to the premises but do not necessarily have access to the network, such as a cleaner, contractor or security guard and to determine if it is possible to first gain administrative access to a corporate desktop and then subsequently access to internal network resulting in Domain Administrator level access to the domain.

Tiger Team Attack

MTI TIGER TEAM ASSESSMENT: OVERVIEW

The Tiger Team assessment is a time based attack carried out by MTI Consultants with the goal being to get domain administrator level access as quick as possible; currently the record stands at 8 minutes to get full domain admin access. This assessment highlights any attack vectors open to malicious or curious employees who may want to try and compromise the domain.

Throughout the Tiger Team assessment only tools that can be held on a USB stick or external hard drive will be used as it is felt that in a real attack a cleaner, security guard etc would not try to connect their own laptop to the network in front of employees for fear of detection.

This does not constitute a full internal assessment and serves to highlight easily exploitable attack vectors within desktop configuration and also within the domain that employees and third parties can reasonably exploit. The services is a one day, time-capped assessment, conducted using a corporate desktop machine onsite at one of the client’s offices.
